Thanksgiving & Advent are Upon Us

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Thank you for your love and support of our Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast.  I have been celebrating this feast with my kindergartners for the past 26 years.  That adds up to  a lot of paper bag vests and macaroni necklaces! Speaking of which, a HUGE shout out to Kysa Kelleher for cutting out all of those vests for our children and to the many other helpful hands that assisted us in our crafts and food preparations: Thank you to Debbie Ryan, Sara Allen, Molly Briscoe, Susan Samuelson, for cutting projects! Thank you to our wonderful Kindergarten Chef helpers: Kathryn Williams, Kristy Robbins, Molly Briscoe, Meg Scharle, and Kate Miller. Please forgive me if I missed anyone. Thank you to all of you for all of the ingredients and service at our feast. Many thanks to my beloved Martin for taking time out of his schedule to help me set things up for our special day and thank you Diane and Christina Salvitelli for your super support as well. I could not have made this all happen without all of you!  It was a beautiful event.

I will not be  sending out homework this weekend as I want you to have lots of free time to enjoy your family and friends.  If you did not return your homework folder this week, please be sure to send it in on Monday along with your nap mats.

Lastly, our Advent season begins this Sunday.  This is a beautiful time in our church calendar for little children to identify with the Christ Child and the Blessed Holy Family.  Please come to church this Sunday and share this beautiful celebration with your child. Non-Catholics are welcome to attend our Masses as well.  Help your child to connect with this season in a spiritual way. It's time to take out those Advent wreaths or create one. Advent is a time to set aside each evening to light a candle, to take pause, and pray together as a family. The Madeleine church provides many great booklets and activities to help guide people of all ages through the season. They also have Advent Wreaths available to purchase. Here is a link about the history of the Advent wreath:

We are sending out continued prayers of healing for Kate Chambers, Jack's mom as she recovers from back surgery.

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend.

Leigh Ann
